Man the Detroit Lions had a good week last week David Montgomery Chicago Bears Jerseys , didn’t they? It even felt like they may follow that up with another with another great week. But then the Lions defense showed up again and resulting in a heartbreaking loss to the Cowboys, 26-24. These are the type of games I hate the most. The games where you come so close and just fall short. At least when the Lions got blown out by the Jets in Week 1, you had an entire half of football to just hang out and wait for it to end. On Sunday, you believed for a couple minutes the Lions were going to win before you got kicked in the face with defeat. As always, I have thoughts on this game. these are those thoughts. What happened to that team from last week? Offensively, the team showed up. Matthew Stafford was spot on all day and Golden Tate had one of the better games of his career. Defensively, the old problems reared their heads again. Coming into the game, all anyone could talk about is how the Cowboys couldn’t pass the ball, but then the Lions come in town and suddenly the Cowboys can throw the ball. This happens to the Lions so often it isn’t even funny. If you’re a Cowboys fan, I wouldn’t get too excited. You’re likely to go right back to your problems after the Lions leave town. As far as stopping the run, forget about it. Ezekiel Elliott went off for 152 yards. We all knew it would happen Youth William Perry Jerseys , but there was at least a little bit of hope that the Lions would draw up something to at least contain him. A poor effort a week after stomping the reigning AFC Champions on national television. I don’t know what the Lions are going to do to get by for the rest of the year. I really don’t. Penalties continue to be killersThe Lions got called for defensive holding three times on one drive. You can’t make that up. That’s comically bad. Add in five other penalties and the Lions essentially gave the game away to the Cowboys. Dallas by the way, only had two penalties all day long. Of course it wouldn’t be a Lions game without a somewhat controversial call. This one was a bit confusing. Dak went down and was not touched. The whistle was not blown and the play was still going when Okwara made the sack. Yet somehow, through the magic of NFL officiating, Dak gets the call and the Cowboys take the lead on the very next play. Classic. I’ll have to prank call Dean Blandino tonightafter this, even if he wasn’t there. I’ll use this for material. What are the Lions doing with Kerryon? As I mentioned above, the Lions offense—for the most part—had a pretty good day. But what I can’t understand is Jim Bob Cooter’s unwillingness to go with the hot hand in the running game. Kerryon has more than proved that he is the guy at this point. Yet we find him disappearing for a handful of drives, and the Lions stall out. I like LeGarrette Blount just as much as the next Boise State fan, but it’s time to relegate him to certain scenarios, like short yardage situations. Theo Riddick hasn’t really been himself all season and he’s a pretty clear indicator the Lions are about to pass the ball when he’s out there. Johnson, on the other hand, has been money. I just can’t figure it out. Why don’t the Lions line up Theo Riddick and Kerryon Johnson together at the same time more often? Defenses would fall over themselves trying to figure out what the Lions are going to do and you can audible any which way there. Props to Dak Prescott for trying Darius SlayI wouldn’t have done it. In all seriousness Danny Trevathan Jerseys Stitched , I’m not sure I’d throw Slay’s way in a video game let alone a real game. But Prescott just kept going for it on Sunday and it almost never worked out well for him. The All-Pro corner broke up three passes, one of which could have been a touchdown had Nevin Lawson been covering. What I can’t understand is why the Lions didn’t move Slay over to Cole Beasley. Cole worked Jamal Agnew like a part-time job all day long, yet no relief was ever sent. This team does some interesting things like this that enrage me every weekend. Why not make an adjustment there? If the Lions don’t pay Tate, I will find a way to do itHe is an ass. If he were on any other team I would want to see him fumble at the 1-yard line when he’s taunting. But Sandman is right, he is our ass. Now it’s time to pay that ass. Golden Tate went off on the Cowboys Sunday and was easily the brightest spot of the whole day. Golden was targeted eight times and he caught all eight passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns. are there still people out there that think he’s expendable? I don’t know how to set up a Go Fund Me, but I do know how to sell World’s Finest Chocolate. If we canvas the neighborhoods and send the booklets with our parents to work, we’ll either have a new contract for Tate or a paid-in-full trip to Four Bears Water Park. It’s a win-win.
